🌍 Which Football Club Is Really the Greatest of All Time?
Real Madrid?
Liverpool?
Manchester United?
Juventus?
Bayern Munich?
River Plate?
Malmö FF?
Rosenborg?
FC Copenhagen?
Football greatness is often reduced to one simple statistic:
How many championships have you won?
But league titles only tell part of the story.
This Finter.dk all-time guide also looks at:
- league matches
- wins
- draws
- goals scored
- goals conceded
- goal difference
- all-time points
- national championships
- long-term consistency
The result is a much broader picture of which clubs have dominated league football for generations.
For even more historic numbers, see Finter’s English guide:
Most Goals Ever: Top 20 in Denmark, the Nordic Countries, Europe and the World
📊 How the All-Time Points Are Calculated
Comparing clubs across different eras is difficult.
Why?
Because many leagues historically awarded:
2 points for a win
while modern football normally awards:
3 points for a win.
To make different eras easier to compare, this article uses a simple standardised system wherever required:
⭐ Finter All-Time Points
3 × wins + 1 × draws
That means a Liverpool victory in 1920 carries the same value as a Liverpool victory in 2026.
Administrative deductions are generally excluded from this comparison.
P = Matches played
W = Wins
D = Draws
GF = Goals for
GA = Goals against
🇪🇺 PART 1 – EUROPE’S BIG FIVE LEAGUES
🏴 1. England – All-Time English Top Flight
English top-flight history did not begin with the Premier League in 1992.
The Football League started in 1888/89, meaning a true all-time table must include both:
- the old First Division
- the Premier League era
📊 England All-Time Top Five
